First Impressions of The NEW Ping G440

It’s a new year & as golfers we all know that means one thing… NEW GEAR!

The Ping G440 fitting kit has arrived at Gamola Golf and we have had a chance to give it a spin in our fitting bay. The initial impression at address is a classic, clean looking Ping wood. Another thing that first stands out is the Carbonfly Wrap crown which is applied on all 3 models (it looks great by the way). The G440 has the lowest CG ever for a Ping driver & this has been done to achieve 3 things all golfers should look for –

Another thing I noticed was the difference in sound. The G440 has the great looks & feel of a Ping driver but the acoustics are totally different. We have an indoor fitting studio where the sounds are often amplified, meaning anything that sounds more *Pingy* (pun intended) would sound even more so in store. However, these drivers sound a lot more muted & smooth at impact. So, if you’ve ever been put off by the louder noise a Ping driver made in the past, you can put your mind at ease when you try this one out!

I have used the G430 LST for the past 12 months & I am already really interested in making the switch to the G440 version, more testing will be done to see what I end up with but this driver has performed extremely well for me in the initial sessions. More to come on that!

Overall, the G440 range is going to be a great & worthy addition to what is a really strong line up across the board for all the brands in 2025. We of course would encourage & offer fitting sessions to anyone who wants to try this out & find their best fit.
